WEATHER: A mostly cloudy Thursday with some sun breaks

SEATTLE — Morning temperatures are warming from the upper 30s to low 40s. High temperatures today for Western Washington will be in the mid to upper 50s.

Very light amounts of rain falling on the north coast and along Clallam County this morning come from a weak front that will dissipate and only bring increasing clouds across Western Washington for the day.

Thursday will be a mostly cloudy day with some sun breaks at times. By the evening, a slight chance of a shower develops for South King County and southern counties of Washington.

You may have a light shower tonight around Maple Valley or towards White Center and Olympia.

Behind the front, a temporary ridge of high pressure builds up to keep Friday and Saturday dry.

Into the weekend

Friday begins with plenty of cloud cover. The afternoon clears to sunny with high temperatures into the mid-50s.

Saturday temperatures will moderate and top out in the mid-50s.

The morning will be filled with fog and low clouds, which clear for partly to mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon.

An area of low pressure will approach our coastline over the weekend and threaten rain showers. It appears there will be dry weather for western Washington, but possibly a few showers along the coast.

Next week

On Monday, the low pressure begins to roll into Oregon and pulls in a cooler air mass over western Washington. This cold trough of low pressure will create showers Monday night and Tuesday, with cooler high temperatures in the low 50s and overnight lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.
