Mariners trade for Cardinals All-Star Brendan Donovan

The Seattle Mariners confirmed Monday evening that they have acquired All-Star infielder/outfielder Brendan Donovan from the St. Louis Cardinals.

A source spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity on Monday because the teams had not yet finalized the trade, but by 6:30 p.m. that same night, the Mariners confirmed the trade.

“We have acquired All-Star INF/OF Brendan Donovan from the Cardinals. In exchange, we have traded INF Ben Williamson to Tampa Bay and minor league RHP/LHP Jurrangelo Cijntje, OF Tai Peete and a 2026 Comp Round B draft pick to St. Louis,” wrote the Mariners in a social media post.
